Collection & Shipping Options

There are 2 options for receiving your order:

1. SHIPPING AUSTRALIA-WIDE

In order to keep shipping as affordable as possible, we have 4 different shipping zones. Your postcode and suburb will determine which zone you fall within. All of the postcodes/suburbs included in each zone are detailed in the tabs below.

How are orders to Zone 1 sent? All orders are sent using a courier.

How are orders to Zone 4 sent? All plants are sent using AusPost Express. Non-plant items may be sent using regular AusPost or a courier, depending on their size. Where an order contains both plant and non-plant items, it may be split into two deliveries (although this is unlikely).

What postcodes are included in Zone 4? 7151, 7255, 725, 7257 & all areas of mainland Australia that are serviced by AusPost (excluding WA and the NT, due to biosecurity laws).

Flat rate shipping means that our shipping fee is the same for 1 plant as it is for 100 plants. It allows you to shop with confidence, knowing how much you can expect to pay for shipping before you reach the check out.

All delivery orders are sent once a week on Monday (or Tuesday, in the event of a Public Holiday on the Monday). The cut-off for each Monday's shipping-run is 8pm the day before, i.e. Sunday. Orders placed after 8pm on Sunday will not be sent until the following Monday.

The reason that we send all of our orders on a Monday is to allow plenty of time for delivery during the week. However, in rare circumstances (usually only for Zone 3 deliveries) your order may still be in transit over the weekend. If this occurs, please do not worry - 99.99% of the time your plant will arrive early the next week in perfect condition and the extra time in transport will not have effected it - and if you are in the 00.01% we will replace your plant if it has suffered damage due to the delay.

We pack all orders very carefully to protect your plants during their journey. We also send all of our plants in their plastic nursery pots to avoid any unnecessary stress to your new plants.

We have found that our plants ship extremely well; however, some slight cosmetic damage can occur during transit and we can unfortunately not take responsibility for such damage as it foreseeable. In the unlikely event that your plant arrives with more than slight cosmetic damage (or is otherwise worse for wear) please contact us via email at orders@theplantroomtas.com.au for assistance.

Whilst it is unnecessary for you to be at home when our delivery person delivers your order, we can unfortunately not take responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged deliveries once they have been left by the delivery person. If you are not at home, our delivery person will leave your delivery on your doorstep or in another suitable location - if you have a convenient hiding spot, please let us know in the order notes at the 'check out' stage or send us an email to orders@theplantroomtas.com.au. 

We ship Australia-wide, excluding WA and the NT (due to biosecurity laws). If you are in WA or the NT, we can however send to a concierge for quarantine treatment - email us at orders@theplantroomtas.com.au for further info.

We have a promo code that allows you to 'add to your order' (i.e. place a 2nd or 3rd order) before the cut off (at 8pm on Sunday) for each Monday's delivery-run without having to pay for shipping again - just enter the promo code MOREPLANTS at the checkout and it will remove the shipping fee. 

Please note that we monitor the use of this promo code and hope that everyone can use it in the way it is intended. It is not intended to be used to get free shipping on your first order that you place in that shipping cycle (8pm Sunday - 8pm Sunday) and orders that misuse the promo code are likely to be cancelled.

2. FREE COLLECTION FROM LINDISFARNE

Collection is available every second weekend on the Saturday after our fortnightly plant release. Collection times are limited to between 12pm – 2pm. You can confirm when our next collection day at the 'check out' stage.

Collection is from our private home in Lindisfarne, Tasmania (near Hobart). You will be advised of the address upon checking out and it will also be included in your order confirmation email.

As a home based business run by a busy family, collections are unfortunately limited to the date/time specified. As alternate collection dates/times are not available, if the next collection date/time does not suit you please do not select the 'collection' option when checking out.

If for any reason you are unable to collect your order as scheduled, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can work out a solution with you. Your options will be: (1) collect on our next collection date/time; or (2) have your order shipped (fees are applicable).

Unfortunately there is no public access to our growing area or plant room. When you collect your plants you will collect them from the front deck of our private home.
